Author

Emma Seymour After 25 years of teaching PE, and every day is still a learning day.

I love seeing the pure happiness of activity on the children’s faces when they are playing a game, or the focus and concentration to master a new skill or the communication required to encourage their team to do better. The feeling of giving them that joy is wonderful. Over the years I have enjoyed various roles as a School Sport Partnership Development Manager, School Sport Coordinator, and held various positions of responsibility at different schools, Secondary and Primary. I lived in New York for a year working at the Women's Sports Foundation and have volunteer coached junior hockey for many years and even try to keep playing myself.

Through this journey I discovered that I could help more children by helping their teachers feel more confident to teach PE, so now I am a Specialist Primary PE teacher, training primary teachers and also delivering PE to a local primary school.

My love for the subject has grown over the years, the wider benefits it holds to the child and the ability to give the powerful message of a lifelong love of physical activity, I see as a great gift for life.

Ultimately PE is fun and always should be, for everyone.
